How to clean the
screw in right way
It’s the commonest and most effective way
to use fire for removing the plastic sticked on the screw, but, it’s forbidden to use acetylene flame to
clean the screw, the acetylene flame’s temperature could
reach 3000°C, such high
temperature will damage the metallic character of screw, and also remarkably
effect the mechanical tolerance of screw.
Choose the suitable detergent:
based on the own production situation, the manufacturer could decide using commercial detergent or using different resins as screw cleaning detergent.
Choose the right cleaing method:
The fisrt step of clean screw is to close the outlet mouth of hopper; then low down the rotating speed of screw to 15-25r/min, and keep the same speed during cleaning process.
In the extruder part, the heating zones’ temperature should be set at 200℃, when the extruder reach the preset temperature, the cleaning starts.
Choose the right cleaning tools:
1. heat-resistant gloves; 2. goggles; 3. copper scraper; 4. copper brush; 5. copper mesh; 6. stearic acid; 7. electric drill; 8. machine ruler;
once the cleaning resin stop flowing, the screw could be pull out, spread stearic acid on the screw, then remove the left residue with copper mesh till the whole screw is polished well, then scrub the screw with cotton cloth.
After the screw cleaned well, could put it well or preserve it after smearing oil on the surface of screw.
It’s forbidden to use steel tools, such as steel screwdrivers, scraper or pry bars, they may damage the surface of the screw and barrel when remove the plastic sticked on the screw.
